5 Signs Your Business Website Needs a Refresh

Your website might still be online, but that doesn't mean it's still working for you. Here's how to tell when it's time for an update.

A website that looked great five years ago can quietly become a liability today. It still loads, technically - but it may be costing you customers without you noticing.

The clearest sign is speed. If your site takes more than a couple of seconds to load, especially on mobile, visitors leave before they even see what you offer. Search engines notice too, and a slow site tends to rank lower.

Next is how it looks on a phone. More than half of web traffic is mobile today. If your layout breaks, text overlaps, or buttons are too small to tap, you're losing visitors at the door.

Then there's maintenance. If updating a price, adding a service, or fixing a typo means calling someone and waiting days, the site is working against you instead of for you.

Finally, look at whether the site still reflects what you actually do. Businesses grow and change - new services, new focus, new tone - and a site frozen in an earlier version of the business sends the wrong signal to new visitors.

None of this means starting from zero. Often a focused rebuild - faster hosting, a mobile-first layout, and a way to update content yourself - solves most of it without losing what already works.

If your site shows a few of these signs, take a look at how our web development service handles a focused rebuild.
